These VIP design gaskets have been designed to compensate for a defect of the traditional “V” gaskets.
In fact, the latter, due to the profile design of their section tend – due to the residual deformation – to settle in the deformation position and, this settling, causes losses in the absence of pressure.


VIPAC gaskets, due to the design of their section, when prestressed, undergo a compressive deformation to which they react much better and therefore offer the following advantages:

They will have very little residual deformation due to the reaction to compression of the strong mass of rubber. The deformation resulting from the prestressing first and then from the working pressure will cause a thrust elastic of the sealing edges towards the metal parts, which will always increase as the pressure increases.


Since the stiffness of a compound is proportional to its mass and this being decisive for preventing the leakage of the gaskets through clearances or by breaking or cutting them, by increasing the mass of the gaskets, the dangers of leaks at high pressures will be eliminated.

Of course, these gaskets cannot be expected to have good sensitivity at low pressures, in fact, while the seal in the absence of pressure is guaranteed thanks to the mass mentioned above and the reaction to compression, the gasket will have initial separation friction higher than what can be obtained with “V” gaskets.

VIPACs are normally produced with high hardness compounds.
