Gaskets made of NBR, short for Nitrile Butadiene Rubber, represent a product category that is widely used in various industrial sectors due to its properties and versatility. NBR is itself a synthetic elastomer derived from the copolymerisation of acrylonitrile and butadiene, and its chemical composition gives it unique characteristics in terms of oil and fuel resistance.
Recently, for specific applications, we have codified the inclusion in the NBR compound of percentages of PTFE to lower the coefficient of friction, which in some applications is a very important factor PTFE, in addition to its great thermal resistance, provides good anti-adhesion and low coefficient of friction to the compound it is made of. This compound therefore represents an excellent compromise between chemical resistance, flexibility and durability, while also maximising value for money.
